Santa's Village
The boys and girls in our Elmcrest programs delighted in Santa’s Village, colorfully created in the gym on the Elmcrest campus early in December. Thanks to Verizon’s Telecom Pioneers, the children decorated ornaments to hang on the village tree and filled colorful bags with oranges, cookies, books, and games. At the end, they wandered down a tree-lined path to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Live music brought little ones to their feet to dance and play the tambourine. Read-A-Loud stories also entertained pre-schoolers from Elmcrest’s Small Wonders Day Care program, Elmcrest’s residential programs, and Casey’s Place.
The Verizon Telecom Pioneers also enlisted help from Empower and Nice N’ Easy to make this a special day. The Pioneers just celebrated their 100th anniversary and have been hosting holiday parties for children since 1982.
