Elmcrest’s Special Supervision Units are nine-bed programs for boys between the ages of 11 and 16 who have a history of sexually abusive behavior.  These highly structured programs feature specialized treatment services, enhanced supervision, and added services to the families of these children.  Elmcrest also provides additional psychological and psychiatric time for the residents on a regular schedule.

Upon admission, each child and each family undergoes an assessment of strengths.  Based upon those assessments, the treatment team develops an integrated plan of services aimed at changing the behavior that brought the child into care.  Elmcrest’s Family Liaison works with the families to ensure that their issues and needs are being met and that, upon discharge, they will be in a position to properly supervise their child.
